On of the main changes is surely the 'translation' of Decameron from the original context (Florence and Tuscany) to a Mediterranean one, Naples and Southern Italy (and, in a lost episode, the story of Alibech, also the Middle East, the desert of Yemen and the fantastic architecture of Sana'a).
