Abstract

In a study of 1961 L. Malleret tried to explain the meaning of the particular form of the golden dodecahedrons found at Oc-èo, showing a preference for the idea of connection between the dodecahedrons and the neopythagorean milieu. The present article on the various philosophical schools and religious trends which attributed a particular meaning to the number twelve. In conclusion, stress is laid on the astrological speculations in which that number had a fundamental importance. In fact the conjecture that the neopythagorean doctrine can have found followers at Oc-èo appears quite questionable, while more largely widespread and easily understandable seem to have been astrological beliefs.
