Abstract

After a detailed analysis of the history of the interpretations of Recognitiones I, 27-71. the contribution of F. Stanley Jones is thoroughly examined and a few remarks are made on the geographical origin of the Jewish Christian source discussed. A further remark regards the identification, suggested by the author, of the ‘fortified place of the earth’ (R I, 37, 2) with Jericho.
