A proposito di Cor. IV, 157: una nota aggiuntiva all’interpretazione ismā ̒īlita di šubbiha lahum

Abstract

In a passage of a treatise belonging to the Qarmatian-Ismaili tradition, the Kitāb šaǧarat alyaqīn , is to be found a theory which, referring to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ (Qur. IV,157), gives an interpretation which strays from the common Islamic belief of the “double”, in admitting Ismā ̒īlism Jesus Christ’s crucifixion. In so doing, the author of the šaǧarat re-proposes the idea that Ismā ̒īlism, or at least some of its sections, admitted the corruption of Christ’s humanity (nāsūt) but not that of His divinity (lāhūt); this time in terms of “names” ( Masīḥ and ̔Īsā), and not of “natures” (lāhūt and nāsūt) as it did previously.
