Note testuali ai libri I-IV delle Anatomicae Administrationes di Galeno

Abstract

Some critical notes on thirty-two passages of Galen’s Anatomicae Administrationes (Books I-IV) are presented in this article. They both regard the original Greek text and its Arabic translation by Ḥubayš (ninth century). I rely on Garofalo’s critical edition as well as on a personal collation of the Arabic manuscript D. A conjecture is made in relation to passages I, 3; I, 7; II,4; II, 6; II, 8; III, 10; IBID.; IV, 2; IBID.; (Greek); I,7; II,2; IBID.; II, 4; II, 10; III, 3; III, 9; III,12 (Arabic). In II, 4; IV, 4 a lacuna is likely to occur. In II, 10 (Greek); IV, 7 (Arabic) the order of the words has been changed, and in III, 10 and IV, 12 a different punctuation has been proposed. In some cases a new interpretation of the text is given.
